I lived in town. The house I lived in would randomly have the smell of sweet tobacco smoke. You would hear footsteps (not just boards creaking but actual footfalls.) The oven door would fly open. Late at night and you would hear indistinct music box music. There was no music box in the house.

My best friend lived in a house on B Avenue in Cement, Oklahoma when we were teenagers. She told me it was haunted. She said it was in the closet and that they could ask it questions, and it would answer with a certain amount of knocks. My mother had told me of experiences she had when she was younger, so I was open minded about it, but had my doubts as you can imagine. One night I was there with my best friend. No one else was home. I had gone into the bedroom to look for a shirt I had left there and kind of scanned the closet. The door was open, and there was a pile of clothes on the floor of the closet. Behind this pile of clothes was a red ball. It was just sitting there. I did not disturb anything, just scanned the closet from about a foot away from the opening.
I decided I may have overlooked my shirt at home and turned and walked away when all of the sudden I heard this noise. It was the sound of a ball rolling on the floor. I looked behind me, and the ball was rolling toward me. I was about half way across the bedroom by this time. As I was watching this ball roll my way, I was thinking I know I didn't touch anything in there. Maybe I did though and didn't realize it. As I was thinking this and watching this ball roll toward me, it abruptly stopped about 3 inches from my foot reversed direction and went back in the closet. It did not roll back toward the closet and stop as it should have, had there been some slight incline which would have slowed it and reversed its direction (no such incline existed anyway, it was a level floor. ) But instead it sped up and jumped back over the clothes and rested right back in the same spot it originated from.
I walked out of the bedroom to tell my friend what happened, and as soon as I entered the living room the radio behind her came on all by itself. Not any remote control radio. A little cheap Am/ FM radio with just the two knobs: volume and tuning. Needless to say, I am now a true believer in ghosts. And we never stayed in that house alone again.
