I was an inmate there for years. The hallway between AW and A has all these little tiny rooms with big heavy metal doors and a small 1-foot square window to look in on the patients. You would see faces in those windows. The rooms are rusted shut. It was a psych hospital, and a lot of people died in those rooms.

I too was an inmate there not too long ago, and after reading the majority of these past posts I can confirm a lot of the stories based on my own experiences as well as my peers. There was a ghost nurse who many people would see, and the staff actually referred to her as ''Nurse Betty.'' That was on C Unit . Then I also would hear inmates talked about being held down as well as being breathed on at night. Locked doors to entrances and exits no longer used would also come open and shut on their own. Much like Oklahoma state reformatory in Granite OK, this place is without a doubt haunted. You can just feel it in the air through energy or lack of energy at times. Super creepy.

Comment by Paula: I was there in 1996. I was on D. I remember stories about nurse Betty. I just thought I'd rather deal with a spirit than the patients. Well, one night they found me off the unit in a different building, looking at the old electric shock machine.
Comment by William: I just got in October 2020 and was on A unit. You see shadows at night with no light source to cast them. Nurse Betty was the ghost of the nurse that was killed downstairs on C unit. Two or three people killed her there one, with a hammer if I remember correctly. There's a lock on one of the drop boxes for inmate mail that will swing back and forth for hours with nobody near it on A 1. I didn't buy into that stuff in my life, but what can I say I saw it myself!.
