Stikini House
At the northeastern edge of Shawnee, in the woods northeast of Musson and Wolverine Roads, there is an abandoned house where a Stikini once lived.
A Stikini is a Native American evil spirit that can change his form from old man to owl at night.
Residents of the neighborhood report hearing footsteps in the leaves as if someone in the woods is walking parallel to them at night, others have seen a man under a night light out of the corner of their eye, but when they look, they see an owl fly away.
The house itself is rather eerie and although barely standing, is still a frequent Halloween destination for local youths. It is also said that a Ouija board, candles, and spell books have been found there.
