I'm a trucker, and my route allowed me to stop in Tahlequa to visit a childhood friend I haven't seen for thirty-seven years. He lives south of town near the intersection of US-62 and OK-82. This is my first time in the area. I parked my truck near the front of the stockyards' property at the edge bordering the place selling sheds. He offered me a place to sleep, but after our visit I decided to sleep in the truck for security reasons. We arranged for me

to give him a ride to work in the morning.
I lay in bed for the night. I was deep in thought when I dozed off with my right leg propped up and

my left ankle crossing my thigh just above the knee. My left knee and right foot were flat on the mattress. I was still dressed and on top of the covers. It was about three o'clock in the morning. I remember starting to dream when someone woke me up by forcefully yanking my foot off of my knee. Coming out of sleep, I thought my buddy came back for some reason or that it was already morning.
