I was staying at my grandmother's house just after I graduated college. It is a modest three bedroom home in the area of Admiral and Mingo. One week, my grandparents were away on a trip. I went to bed around midnight that night, alone in the house.
Around three am, I awoke with the sudden knowledge that I was no longer alone in the room. I glanced to the foot of the bed and saw my great-grandmother. She appeared as a hazy white form -- as if she

Frozen in fear, I lay there for a moment, trembling. Her face, which seemed friendly at first, saddened. She faded away as

I turned on the light. She had been dead for a year. I don't normally believe in the supernatural, but I will go to my grave knowing that the figure I saw was my grandmother -- and that she was disappointed, saddened even, at having frightened me.
I never saw her again; however, on other nights, I got the feeling that I was no longer alone in that house.
