My mother told me a story about her grandma's house in Alice, Texas. Back in 1959 my mother was nine years old and would occasionally spend the night with her grandparents. They were very poor and did not have electricity or a bathroom inside the house. The house only had one bedroom. When she and her siblings would spend the night they would cram into the one bedroom, some sleeping on the floor and some on the bed and the grandparents slept in the

living room. Occasionally she would hear her grandma/grandpa whispering in Spanish, but my mother did not know what they were saying. Finally one night

her grandmother told them that if they see someone in the night standing over them while in bed, they just needed to ignore that person and just put the covers over their heads and pray. She told them that occasionally there were three separate apparitions that would visit them in the night.
One night while sleeping my mother woke up wide awake and saw a woman at the foot of their bed. Eventually as she got older in her 20s they nicknamed the
