Sherril's beauty shop is on the west side of main. In the alley behind there and just a bit north there used to be an old jail. In 1966 Roy Keith hung himself after being arrested for public drunkenness.
He yelled and made a fuss all the night before. I remember this well since I was in town when they found him the next morning. And being boys we always 'watched' that place. You can hear him yelling and carrying on on some nights.
