When I was a child there was a house at the end of our Street. I cannot remember the street name, but legend says there was a shootout there between state troopers and bootleggers. The house can be seen off of hwy 79.
My friends and I went to explore the house and heard footsteps coming down the stairs. When we looked to see who was there, we saw no one. The footsteps continued across the ground floor and towards the front door.
It scared us badly

and we left.
