Bell county jail is haunted bad, I saw ghost everyday I was there. There is a man who stares at you all day through the gate.

I am looking at alternative properties for a B&B for my sister, we saw a pink building with a huge for sale sign on it that backs up to Nolan creek. Across the street is a parking lot, there is a huge oak tree, there's a historical marker on the old place but I didn't take time to read it.

I felt sick and afraid so rather than call the realtor I retreated. Has there been any investigations this property? I did some research on the house and found out it was once the county jail.

Comment by former Belton resident: The pinkish building you are talking about has a rich history. It used to be the jail in Belton decades ago. I'm sure if walls could talk you would get an ear full.
Comment by Meg: This place has been foreclosed / for sale off and on for as long as I can remember. As a young kid there were rumors of a dog that haunted it. I actually became interested in it as big as it is and having a large family.
The history is that it's the original jail, has been in or was set on fire by a mob of people not long after it was built, and there were hangings on the property due to the old west law back in the day if I remember correctly.
It's on the historical marker I believe. It's actually a beautiful place. I'm a little leary seeing that someone has set a gargoyle at the entrance. Kind of makes you wonder if they did so to ''protect'' the property from entities they may have or were afraid of encountering.
All this if it's the same place I believe you're referencing to. (on Pearl? Behind the other ''old jail'' that is now sheriff's offices and attorney general child support court? ). Hope this information was helpful.
