About 14 years ago when my little girl was 3 years old she would sleep with me in the rent house that we lived in soon after my divorce. For a long time I slept on a blow up mattress until I found a gorgeous wooden bed at an antique store.
One night I awoke to find my daughter just staring at my side of the bed. She saw that I was up and whispered to me do you see them? I asked her who she was talking about and she told me that there was a little boy and girl standing by my side of the bed watching me sleep.

I advised her that well sometimes grown ups don't see the same things that kids see but that doesn't mean they are making things up. Everyday after that she would talk about the kids. One day she told me that an angry 'mom-like' person went in the room and made the kids leave, she told me that the 'mom-like' person seemed mean.

Less than a month later I decided on a whim to visit my family out of town. We got home after I picked up the kids, packed a suitcase and just left. I didn't tell anyone I was leaving. Later my sister in law came into the room I was in and told me that there was a fire chief on the phone who needed to talk to me he told me that my house basically just blew up.
Apparently there was a gas leak and a spark from the AC caused a terrible explosion. When I got back home everything was ruined except for my beautiful bed. I told my friends that I didn't want anything from the house, I was starting completely over.
My daughter never saw the kids or the mom-like person again. I think it was tied to the bed which I was later told was bought at an estate sale, it dated back to the 1950s. After research I learned that back then people didn't die at hospitals or nursing homes they would die at their home with the family watching over them.
