I was sitting alone in my room listening to music. My parents were out of town, and my brothers were both at their friend's house. As I was sitting alone on my bed with my music cranked up all the way I got really cold. This was very unusual because it was in the middle of summer. I got up to see if there was an air conditioner or a fan on anywhere. There wasn't a fan on, but my dog was sitting in the corner crying. As I got closer to my dog he looked up and started barking and growling at me. I was pretty freaked out by this. I thought somebody was behind me, so I quickly turned around, but nobody was there. I brushed this off thinking it was nothing, so I went back into my room and sat on my bed. I sat there with a blanket wrapped around me, and out of nowhere as clear as day in my left ear I hear a voice saying ''leave my room. '' I jumped startled out of my bed falling on the floor staring at my bed. I sat there for a few seconds thinking what just happened. I decided to put it aside even though my dog was standing in my doorway growling at nothing.
I was a believer of ghosts because when I was little I had the ability to have the same emotions of the ghosts that are trying to contact me. I knew automatically that a ghost was in my room trying to contact me. I got scared and decided to go sit in the living room with my dog. When I sat down on my couch I felt as if the ghost was still with me. When I looked over to my right I saw a shadow in the shape of a man. At that same time I got a feeling of rage, sorrow, and love all at the same time. The shadow put out a hand and brushed against my face. I tried to tell myself to run but I couldn't move. All I could do was sit there and cry. The same voice that spoke to me in my room said ''don't be scared my love, I have just returned to see you once more. I will be with you always and protect you from evil. '' Tears were pouring down my face as I finally got the courage to ask ''Who do you think I am?'' The shadow stood up and answered before disappearing, ''My love you are the only one I have seen since I have returned. As soon as I laid my eyes on your beautiful face I knew you were the one. The one who will join me in the after life. ''

As soon as the figure disappeared, I got up and ran outside crying and hoping it was just a dream. When I got outside I knew it wasn't a dream. I sat outside until my parents came home. They never questioned why I was sitting outside alone. But ever since then when I wake up in the middle of the night I see that man sitting on my bed beside me watching me sleep. I am no longer afraid of him on comforted by him since I know he will not hurt me.
