Crosby Texas is a very old town. It's area extending even towards Highlands Texas was part of the Stephen f. Austin original 300 colonist. It has been well documented that the land was hard to tame. It was bountiful even to the Indians because of the San Jacinto River that runs through it.
It is well known that Crosby has two types of resident some living and some ''spiritual''. The area that is best known for it's ghostly inhabitants is Newport subdivision. The house on poppets way has been well written about and also has had TV shows made revealing paranormal activity.

I know many families who experienced apparitions screams and poltergeist activity while living in Crosby. I also know firsthand that the ambulance station that sits in front of Newport is haunted. My son was a student medic there.

The doors go up and down by themselves and you can hear footsteps with no one in the building. All of that land was either on the Mckinney plantation or Jackson bayou platt. Gum gully spit the two properties.
You can research this at the Harris county library in Crosby. If you ever find yourself not believing it's true take a walk in the woods in Newport. You will soon see that you're not alone….
