It used to be an elementary school, I don't know what it was called that was burned down and turned into a cemetery and then the old building was built on top of the cemetery. When the elementary school was burned down, and some of students died.
They continued to bury people but in the back but a wall was built between the building and cemetery. I think some spirits still huant the school.

Comment by Andrew: I attended Magoffin in 1992 and though I believe it's haunted. Mainly because of the Paupers Cemetery located behind the school. I just find it hard to believe you witnessed this occurrence because I'm sure the news of it would have blown up around school.

I and many other students in this time period hung out in this very cemetery.

I have a cousin that goes to Austin High School,he is a sophomore now but when he became a freshman me and my other cousins would ask him if he had seen anything weird or scary he would always tell us that he never saw anything but one day he came home really freaked out, I asked him what was wrong and he told me that after gym, the bell had rang and everybody but him and his friend Jerry had left,they were still changing and messing around suddenly they heard some hard footsteps, like if somebody was running across the gym,they peeked out the locker room thinking it might have been some of their friends messing around with them but when they searched the gym nobody was there, so they decided to head back to the locker room, as they were walking back, they saw a black figure running into the locker room they freaked out, and left through one of the back doors of the gym,months later it was time for parent, teacher conference my aunt had gone to my cousin's school and had already talked to the teachers and all that,my aunt wanted to take a short cut to the parking lot so she told my cousin ''lets go through the gym'', they went through the gym,some lights were off and some were on but they still provided enough light to see,my aunt and cousin were like halfway through the gym when they heard some footsteps behind them,they turned around and saw nobody, they got kind of freaked out so they started walking faster, my aunt said that she had turned around and saw a black figure leaning against the wall,she got scared and told my cousin to run for it, they didn't stop running until they got to the car,my aunt was so freaked out she started crying,since then my cousin tells me that when he goes to the gym he makes sure that it's with more than one person.
