Most of my childhood I grew up in San Elizario but as I was growing up my aunts loved the supernatural they would go down to Fabens and take pictures of this little church and cemetery La Isla . I never felt safe around there I felt like a man with a chainsaw would pop out. Ha ha ha so I went away to college and one of my roommates who lived in Houston told me she had visited El Paso and the county. So as a citizen I got all excited she showed me pictures. One of the pictures that caught my eye was her and her family taking a picture in front of the little church La Isla .

It brought back memories . Then I remembered why one of the reasons I had stop going there. In a distant memory I remember getting off of my aunts car trying to get into the cemetery when an old man with a rake was raking leaves my aunt started to ask him questions like it's history, and stuff they were speaking Spanish so as a modern day half Hispanic child I only knew some of what they were saying but something he had said caught my ear long ago there used to be a Catholic school , and in that school were nuns and children , but one day the priest had gone crazy and killed the nuns and the children and there all buried here in this cemetery of La Isla.

After we had left I kept on staring at the cemetery , then I noticed the old man was not there, I had asked my aunt where he was and then she turned back , she didn't see him , so you can say we were going a little faster now. This memory felt like a dream , but I know it really did happen because I had asked my aunt numerous of times, I never really got a chance to look at the names on the gravestones , nor get so deep into it's history , so if you know anything about it please contact me at ared14@ hotmail .com

Comment by Thelma: Based on the little church and cemetery La Isla I had never gone there until one day my boyfriend took my daughter and me there and my daughter said I remember this church and cemetery, she's just 16 but she said she was little when she was there I don't recall taking her there, but do you believe in the after life?.
