This story originated in the early 70s. The ghost of North Loop Road. I heard of a ghost that lived in a small abandoned house along North Loop Road. I was a young kid then in junior high. This particular ghost did not hurt anyone but would occasionally make it's presence. I heard of the rumor amongst other kids but thought nothing of it. The rumor was that the ghost only came out on certain nights and as drivers were passing by the house at night it would cut all the power to the moving vehicle to include all the lights for about 3 seconds and then all would come back to normal.

Once this occurred to someone it would not affect you again it seemed to only target new people. Then one night I was in my uncles truck along with my favorite cousin and uncle. I never mentioned the ghost rumor to anyone and as we were headed home from El Paso towards Fabens and were very close we were on that very same road rumored to be haunted it was late and I was almost asleep.

We were listening to the radio and then all of the sudden all the lights radio engine heater went out. It became very quiet except for the noise of the truck tires running along the road. A few seconds later everything came back on. It puzzled us especially my uncle that was an avid mechanic which included his professional training as an electrician. I recall during the incident of darkness I looked to my right and saw the shadow figure of an old single story square house. Once everything came back on my cousin that was the exact same age as I was asking ''what happened dad''. He said he didn't know he also said he just tuned up the truck he was extremely puzzled but all was going OK that we continued home.
