I figured I would tell them about the rumor in an effort to explain what happened. It scared my cousin and made my uncle laugh. I was so glad to hear his laughter as it was his strength and confidence that calmed my cousin and I down.
Both my cousin and I tried to explain the ghost story to my older brothers and others around without success. We were the center of jokes for some time and thankfully it wore off and I never heard jokes of it again.

15 years later I heard of a classmate and her children having been killed on that same road. The news of this was a shock at first and I wondered almost

immediately if it was the same location but did my best to forget about it.
I moved out of the area and now live in the Pacific northwest. I would visit my mom from time to time and did my best to avoid north loop road at night.
