My husband and I moved to Georgetown in January 2020. We were renting an apartment in the old Mattie Rouser House built in 1860. It was renovated into 3 small apartments in the 1930s. When we moved in we joked with the landlord if the place was haunted, and he said no, but he said that Mattie herself had died in the house. Every time we were not in the kitchen we would hear a bang in there. When we returned after being out things would be moved, and

different lights were on when we made sure they were all off before we left. Our landlord finally confessed that the doors in their apartment open by

themselves, and they also would hear a bang in their kitchen during the night. We haven't seen her yet, but I expect to. Submitted by Helen
Comment by LR: This poor couple of grifters were forced to rent an air bnb due to bad credit. Found out they'd been homeless for reasons most can guess. It's not actually haunted. They have issues with truth and reality. Always a pity party with them. Glad to see them gone. No assets of any kind is only thing truly frightening in this scenario.
