I have lived in Huffman all my life and had a couple of encounters with spirits. My most recent is the most touching one. I had a black lab named Dacota and he was an awesome dog. Everyday when I would walk up the driveway he would follow me.
He was getting old and whined with every move but he still walked up the long driveway with me. One day he stopped eating, a week later on a Thursday he didn't follow me so I though he's old he must be sleeping.

But when I came back from school that day I realized he was dead. I walked all around the yard looking for him I even looked by the horse's water and nothing at all. So I went inside the house when all of a sudden I heard him in the house.

He had never been in the house before and there was no way in and no one had been there all day so I looked up and saw him in the hallway. He gave me a look as if he said goodbye. That's when I knew for sure he had passed away so I went outside and asked my other dog where he was and she walked over to the horse water and there he was dead right where I looked three time before.
I believe that he hid his body from me till he said goodbye. That's why in life and in death he is my best friend. The funny part is that he is suppose to be mans best friend but I'm a girl and he is my best friend!.
