We also have two cats that have reacted by staring up the stairs. They seemed to be following something as it ''walked

by'' and even going to the stairs as if expecting someone to be coming down them. My female cat even tried to chase something black that darted past both of us in the kitchen one night. I thought it was my other cat until I saw him sound asleep on the opposite side of the room. Standing in my kitchen one night I felt as if someone had walked past behind me and felt a cool breeze. It gave me chills even though it was a warm night. This was after my daughter
