The lights are believed to be that of spirits that are protecting a lost treasure that settlers hid from Indians back in the 1800s. Bandera pass also has a headless horseman who rides from Bandera Texas to Center Point Texas. He is a mail carrier who got his head cut off by Apache Indians his fate is to ride for eternity looking for his head. Bandera pass also has a ghost wagon of settlers that were murdered by Apache Indians.

At the Kerr County Courthouse in Kerrville in the courtyard it has been said that a young woman was killed here by her jealous boyfriend in the late 1800s. Afterwards he hanged himself in a tree there. It has been said that if you go there after midnight that you will possibly hear arguing, feel heavy breathing on your neck, start to feel very sad, and start to cry for no reason that you know of. It has been reported that some have seen a young woman running and a man hanging from the old tree. One person claimed to have experienced being in their car, and the doors locked and unlocked the whole car started to shake then a loud bang on the top of their car. Others have reported seeing lights in the courthouse flicker on and off late at night or early morning. Submitted by Anon
