The house I grew up in is haunted. My grandmother used to say she would hear footsteps and see shadows. We thought she was crazy. When I was 13, I was reading in the living room. I saw grandma come in, but I never saw her go outside. I heard a heavy-set person walking in the hall and caught the glimpse of a hunched over white figure walking past the doorway. I called for my grandmother, only to have her reply from outside. I quickly went outside to join

her. When she saw me, she knew something was up. After our guests had left, she asked me what I saw. I told her, and she was so relieved that someone
|
else could validate what she had been seeing all these years.
At other times, I would have friends over to see movies afterschool. Twice, with two different friends, we were both drawn to look at the open doorway. In this doorway, we both saw a white featureless face with black eyes. We both validated each other's experience. I do not live there anymore, but when I come down to visit family, I know she is there. My grandmother told me it was
