Long time Lindale resident here. I have never seen this ghost only rumor, but the real story as it has been explained through the years is that a young man use his elderly parents money to purchase that land hoping to turn it into a lake house and sell it for a profit if I recall. Unfortunately the plan was a failure and feeling as though he financially ruined his parents, he killed himself by drowning in the lake.

About ten years ago my dad remarried and moved to Lindale. The house was an old farm house, which was somewhat falling apart. While moving in, we found old furniture and suitcases with pictures from when the house was fairly new. We immediately started painting and remodeling to make the house everything that the newlyweds wanted. It was not long before we started noticing things out of the ordinary. At first it was small things, such as the paper towels falling off the counter and rolling around all over the floor. We thought maybe the house had mice.

Then we started noticing the cabinet doors being open in the mornings. The doors would open and close on their own. The TV would turn on or off in the middle of the night. Before long we could not walk through the house without feeling like someone was watching. I could never go into the bathroom without feeling like I was suffocating. As I would leave it, I ran to whatever room my family was in. Things happened so frequently that my stepsister who was sixteen at the time would not sleep alone. We finally moved and have not had any more strange encounters.
