My family lived on Mustang Ridge off of skyline drive. One night we were all wakened with the sound of what seemed to be a Stagecoach being driven on the dirt road in front of our house. We could not see anything but could hear the driver cracking his whip and yelling. The horses you could even hear breathing heavily. We were not the only ones that heard this, but also our neighbors down the road were all woken up early after midnight. I did research

and found that the old Camino Real ran in front of our home. We call it the ghost stage. Submitted by anonymous

I grew up in Lockhart, Texas almost my whole life. One night we were on our way to go somewhere, and our transformer went out, so we had no light whatsoever. We were outside. Then my sister said I have to go to the bathroom. I told her to walk into the house, and I would be there in a second (she was older than me but really afraid.) A minute later I walked inside the house and waited by the bathroom door. Then I saw a woman staring at me which at the time I thought was my sister trying to scare me. It walked closer, and it was an old lady coming after me! I ran outside and waited for my sister. She ran out horrified, and it happened to her too. We told each other the same story at the same time. It was one of the scariest things I have ever experienced!!!. Submitted by Beth

This incident occurred in the late 1980s on county road 172 in Lytton Springs Texas. Early one evening I took the kids to visit a neighbor who lives on hwy. 172 close to Fm 1854. We sat in the front yard talking and catching up on the latest news and watching the kids play.
