Many years ago when I was 15 years old my mother sister brother and I lived down Escalante Rd. At the very last house down the (then) dirt road. It was a grey little 2 bedroom 1 bath house. The back yard was a slope that led to the Resaca and had many tall trees. Weird things always happened there but this particular one night I will never forget. My sister her best friend and I were telling ghost stories in my room on my bed next to my blinded double window. I do not remember the story I was telling but some time into the story we heard a soft moan almost crying like outside my window at a distance. We looked at each other and just ignored it and kept telling the story. A little while later we heard it again and it sounded closer. By this time we were already scared because of the stories and our adrenaline was pumping. So we looked at one another and asked ''what was that? ''.
Again we heard the crying like moan but really loud. It sounded like a woman yelling in grief and despair. We heard it at my window and we were all too afraid to look out. We knew it was there because it was right outside my window crying only to be about a foot away. We could not see out because the blind was down and there was no way we were about to open it up to see. We ran out of my room fast into my mothers room and onto her bed only to scare her as well. We knew it was there we heard it but were to afraid to open the blind to see what it was.

My mother did the only logical thing a parent would do to protect their children. She grabbed a kitchen knife and went outside to investigate. I knew there was not anyone outside but she thought otherwise. She was always skeptical about the things that went on in the house but my brother sister and cousins that spent the night knew the truth. I returned to the house years later after I married. I guess just to pass by and see it but it has been renovated and the trees cut down. All I know is that my sister and I will never forget that night. You decide what you want to believe. When I was a child living in Los Fresnos TX my sisters and I witnessed a man dressed in a suit with a top hat walking outside our home at night. He had a long beard too. We would tell our parents that we would see ''the man on the penny'' walking around at night.
There were noises at night in our house too such as dishes being washed in the middle of the night with no on awake footsteps on our wooden floor etc. When we would try to wake our parents at night they simply would not budge! In the morning they simply did not believe us.
