This was at Madero Curve just west. I was writing a report at 2 a.m. inside the patrol car. Then a large dog looking like a Rottweiler walked out from brush. He had droopy ears and huge eyes. He just sat then stood on his hind legs. I spotlighted it, and it had a freaky face that looked like a man with red eyes and a long tail. I was skeptical of ghosts and stepped out to shoot it, but it leaped back into the brush. The red eyes may have been glare from my spotlight, but it was surreal.
I told a buddy of mine, and he said he saw it 5 years ago at the same place. I then asked one of my uncles from Madero. He said he saw it in the 50s after he got back from Korean War. It knocked him off his horse. He was with his brothers. My uncles all saw it then. They said it was the Devil Dog that haunts Madero Curve. It looked like a large jaguarundi.

One starry night in 1995 northbound on Inspiration Road from Military Road I saw flames coming out from a large tree along the west side of roadway. It lasted for over 5 minutes from different angles. It was unexplainable. There was a crop field pretty much flat surrounding the tree. I drove naturally, and I got off my patrol car and called it as I saw it via police radio. When I walked up to the tree the flames disappeared. My sgt called out 10. 4. It's seasonal other old timers had seen it too :). Submitted by Retired MPD Officer
