My husband and I were driving up Fredericksburg from Landa one night. Just as we started up the hill by the park, I saw a man run out in front of my passenger headlight. He looked to be late 40s to 50s but weathered. He had shaggy brown hair with a long beard and was wearing what looked like a Civil War era soldiers' coat that was pretty tattered. We couldn't see his lower half. Right when I slammed on my breaks he disappeared. I know my husband saw him to

because he braced for us to hit him. We drove to the top of the hill, came back down, and drove through the residential streets right there to the left
|
and didn't see anyone. When my husband described him to me it was the same thing down to the details. This has been several years ago, and I can still see his face as plain as day. I've never believed in ghosts and am not sure if I do now, but I cannot explain what happened that night. Submitted by Summer
