There is something paranormal in the woods of Palestine, Texas. At night this super natural thing comes out; it is black with big shiny eyes. Has anyone seen this too?. Submitted by Angela
Comment by Karen: Yes I have and it's smells like a mildew musty to point it takes your breath away. It was on the back road between Elkhart and Grapeland and also Elkhart to Palestine. It is scary when you're walking down the road at night.

Comment by anonymous: Yes, those woods are quite different indeed. Usually you get the usual musky smell of rotted wood and the smell of old dirt, but this is a different smell as if something is dead. Even if you go back months later, you still get the dead smell. At times it is so very still not even a bird sound, other times just a normal wooded area.

One evening after dark my Irish Setter let himself in at the back door of our house built in 1905 behind the old Rusk School. He lay down in the dining room while we were all in the kitchen but was alert instead of immediately going to sleep on a rug as usual. All of a sudden the hair stood up on his neck, he had a wild look in his eyes and he started shaking like he was terrified. It felt like a cold wind was blowing through the room even though the doors and windows were closed and it was warm outside.
