My father's life changed when one night he came home around midnight, and according to his story, came face to face with the most horrible appararition he ever saw in his life. My father lived in a house near the railroad tracks when he was a young adult. His guardian was always telling him not to stay out late at night, afraid something bad could happen to him. Father didn't pay attention to him and kept staying out past midnight whenever he did go out.

One night he stayed out late and upon coming home, he entered through the back kitchen door. According to his story, the wood stove was to the right just as you entered the kitchen. When he stepped inside, he encountered a huge dog like animal crouching in front of him next to the stove, the animal had a gruesome snarl and red glowing eyes.

Father said he immediately leaped bacwards away from this thing, fell down and made a raucous. Everyone in the house woke up and came to see what the commotion was about. They found my father still on the ground and the kitchen door open. Father told them what had just happened and what he had just seen, but there was nothing to be found, only the stench of sulfur! According to some, it is said that smell sometimes is left after a evil sighting happens. 'til the day he died, father never forgot that episode and as his story goes, he was careful not to stay out late for fear he would experience another scary sighting. This house used to be across the street from hoods clinic where the vacant lot is now, used as a parking lot.
