I grew up and lived in Raymondville for twenty-six years. I never had an experience with the paranormal until I was twenty-six years old. I was dating a young lady who lived with her grandparents on the northwest part of town. The pavement literally ended in front of their house and turned into a dirt road. One night as I was leaving their house she walked me to my car and gave me a hug. As we were hugging I looked down the paved part of the street which was illuminated with street lights. I saw a dark mass crossing the street. It had almost a human shape, but I saw no legs or feet to propel it and no definite head. I said nothing to my girlfriend about what I saw.
A few weeks later we were watching television in her trailer which was behind the house. Her grandfather converted the garage into an apartment, and this is where he stayed. The garage was about twenty to thirty feet parallel to the trailer. We heard three distinct knocks and my girl said ''who is it?'' No answer. After a minute or so she opened the door and saw her grandfather looking out of his door. She asked him what he needed and he said ''I thought you were knocking on my door. '' My girlfriend then told me she really was not comfortable sleeping out there, and the neighbor's dogs would growl and snarl practically every night.
I never told my father about any of this until about five years ago. He then told me that the oldest cemetery in town was about a hundred yards north of where all this happened. All this made a lot more sense now. This happened back in 1994 and 1995. Since then I have left Raymondville and have not had any other brushes with the paranormal.
