Does anyone recognize this old house? It was located on HWY 83, between Helen Moore and Williams Road, right on the Harlingen / San Benito Line. It was built probably around 1937. My family lived there for several years beginning about 1963. It was torn down about 1989. The Longhorn Cattle Company restaurant was built right next to where the house was. You can see the slab of part of the house from their dining room.
Almost 50 years later stories are still circulating about that house. Ghost stories. We had our share of experiences while we lived there and understand that it was difficult for anyone to live in it.
If you know a story, would you tell it to me? I would love to know the stories of the house. Thanks, Amy.

Comment by Lawanda: I know this house. My parents tried to buy it in the late 60s. Also I helped build the F.T.A. float there in 1968 or '69.
Comment by Jacob: I showed this picture to my grandfather the other day when him and my mom were talking about haunted places, and he said it used to be a slaughter house. Not sure what type though. He didn't want to go into detail. He just said lets just put it this way lots of bad things went down in that place. It was hard to sell so they tore it down.
Comment by Joe: I left the area in 1951 at 16. My understanding is that that house belong to the Ruenes family that owned the theater. It was said that the movie star Pedro Infante used to stay there when in the area and fathered a child by the attractive lady owner.

Can you see the orb at top of the doorframe? Also if you make the picture larger in the glass door there are several faces. This was taken at a hotel in San Benito Texas.
