I was born and raised in San Elizario. One day we were visiting the cemetery putting flowers on my abuelito's tombstone. We had a lot of family visiting the cemetery watering and cleaning the tombstone. My cousin and I decided to walk around. We started walking towards the old tombstones and crosses. Some of them were collapsed and very old. As we were walking, we started hoping and jumping. Then all of sudden we saw an old wood cross and the dirt in front

of it moving and an old hand reaching out. It was the scariest moment ever. We ran scared towards our family to inform them. All they told us was remember

not to jump around or bother the dead. This happened to us during the day about 1 pm. I now reside in the midwest and often think about my experience in the San Elizario cemetery.
