I arrived at Sheppard Air Force Base in late August 1983 for a six-week training. They assigned rooms to us starting on the first floor. We then filled the second floor, and they sent us up third floor which was later was full. Then they started to take the rest of the guys and send them out to a bus waiting outside. They were going to a barracks on the other side of the base. However, the fourth floor was empty and could easily be filled with the

guys left.
After the first week they had a weekend of freedom. Then finally some guys were talking to permanent party airman. They said a recruit

jumped from the roof and killed himself, and now people standing dorm guard screamed bloody murder as a ghost walked down the hall in the middle of the night. Monday morning we all assembled in a classroom, and a guy in the front ask the CTA if there was a ghost in the barracks. A CTA is like a drill sergeant. He is a no nonsense guy. He replied ''well we've had some problems up there.''.
