I loved Sesame Street, so someone got me a life sized Big Bird doll as a gift one year. He could say a few phrases from the show, but not long after getting him he would talk on his own. My mom grew tired of this quickly and decided to take out the obviously faulty batteries, only to find that Big Bird could still talk. The same thing would happen with our smoke detectors around 3am every now and then, with or without batteries in.

little brother was old enough to walk and talk on his own he would look for pictures of himself all over the house and throw them in the trashcan while
|
crying. I vividly remember hearing quiet conversations just before I fell asleep up until I was 5 or 6. I couldn't make out what they were saying, and I'm 100% sure that the voices didn't belong to anyone in our home. At the time I thought this was just a normal thing that happened. Two or three times I woke up to the sound of a gunshot, as if it were right beside me.
My mom started dating my dad in 2001, and he moved in with us shortly after.
