Many years ago we lived on Crestwood in Tyler and there was a rumor about a haunted house where a man had killed his wife and then killed himself. We all set off on foot to find it one summer day and we walked practically the whole day and never could find it. Several years later we were teenagers and we went out drinking and we were going to drive down the road by the supposed haunted house. We pulled up in front of it and got out and went inside and looked.

It was huge two story that had been vandalized but had been a very nice home. In the back yard there was tennis courts and a swimming pool. It was kind of near the old El Charros. We left and went home so one night after dinner with my family, my dad wanted to go for a drive and we went to the house and walked around. And just as my father gave up my sister and mom had gotten in the car because they were getting a little uneasy. I will never forget my dad took one last look at the house and right when he looked towards it there was a spine chilling scream a guttural scream that was neither human nor animal.

It totally freaked us all out and we never found out what could have made a scream like that. So 15 years later my boyfriend and son and I were driving to Tyler one night in his Jeep and we took the wrong turn and I said oh my god we are by that haunted house, and right when I said that as we were going down the highway the engine in his Jeep turned off by itself and the lights went off and my sons psp went completely dead for a moment. It was a total loss of electrical power, that was one very strong spirit to do that. Submitted by Tammy
