I was startled by tires screeching against the road and by almost falling off the back

seat. My boyfriend tells me ''… wake up''. I asked what was wrong and he said ''the lights turned off''. We stood there in the middle of nowhere and the lights went dead on us while driving. We were standing outside in the middle of the road with nowhere to go. No cars, no lights, the only thing heard was cricket's chirping in the darkness and the moon shining down on us.
