In 2004 I purchased a lake cabin in Archer County. When I was moving and fixing the place up the lady next door came over and struck up a conversation. She told me that the man who had built the house in 1945 had built it for his wife and son, so if Wichita Falls ever fell under attack they would have a place to go.
The first owner sold it to another man who purchased the cabin as a ''getaway'' for himself and his new wife in the late 1960's. They owned the house for maybe two years and then the couple was divorced.

The husband moved into the little white cabin with his dog. After the divorce the man only found happiness at the bottom of a bottle and eventually became paranoid that his wife's boy friend was coming to get the cabin.

(the lady then leaned in real close and said) ''after what she did to him he never was right again''. So then she tells me that in a blind rage the man stabbed his dog to death (in my living room / screened in porch) when the man saw what he had done he stripped out of his blood soaked clothes down to only is boxers carried the dog, and the knife 7 miles to the local grocery store laid him on the counter and said to the clerk ''I need help...
''. It was until a year later when I remodeled the living room that I found the floor was made beautiful pine wood. I lifted up the 17x10 piece of carpet and there in the middle of the room was a dark spot almost 4 long and 3 feet wide. .
