The next day the woman carefully washed the bowl and pitcher set and then put them on a small antique table in the hall. That night the husband got out of bed to use the bathroom. As he walked into the hall he saw the tall ghostly figure of a man washing his face in the bowl. The husband ran back to the bedroom to wake his wife. They then examined the hall together, but could find nothing. A few months passed and the woman went to wash the bowl

and pitcher one evening, and got the shock of her life. She found the horrifying face of a woman with her throat slit in the bowl staring at her.

next day the woman took the bowl and pitcher back to the antique shop to get her money back. She told the antique shop owner about the bowl and pitcher, and the two of them traced the bowl and pitcher back to an old western style saloon in Dodge City, Kansas. It seems that a cowboy had found his girlfriend who worked at the saloon being unfaithful to him. He took his razor and cut the girls throat with it. The cowboy had used the bowl and pitcher for shaving
