Willow city is indeed a very haunted community in Texas. You really couldn't call it a Town as the residents are dispersed on various large and small ranches around the official Town of Willow City. At the time I lived in a house that was built in the 1930's that had a small basement.
The basement door was latched on the inside the house side with a slide bolt and one of those little hooks that fits into an eyebolt. I moved into the house with my

husky dog (alyeska) when I started working in Fredericksburg.
I always felt uncomfortable after sunset in the house and couldn't sleep in the bedrooms

so I usually fell asleep on the couch watching the idiot box with ally (short for alyeska) by my side on the floor.
I am fanatical about locking doors and religiously locked the basement door as well. Every single night at 3 am I would be awakened by ally growling ferociously at the basement door with her hair standing straight up on her back.
When I jumped up to investigate pistol in hand the door would always be wide open! I would always walk
