) From the Arizona Citizen Newspaper: January 16 1901, Suddenly the ghost of Fort Lowell story was the talk of the Tucson area. Reports of other ghosts began to spring up from various newspaper subscribers.

One of these readers claimed that Tanque Verde had it's own ghost. He even took bets that the Tanque Verde ghost could beat the Fort Verde ghost in a foot race.

There are numerous hauntings and strange occurrences taking place at fort verde especially now for some reason. It is rumored that two bodies lay beneath the parade ground both of Native American scouts who betrayed the military.
