I was born and raised in the town of Kingman, Arizona. I was born and raised on the Mother Road of Route 66. My entire family is sensitive to ''paranormal'' activity. Around the area, there were several towns nearby that held much history, several places that had that creepy-crawly feeling when we would visit.
One place was the town of Oatman, Arizona, a former mining town. Oatman got its name from Olive Oatman, a young girl who was kidnapped by

Yavapai Indians and forced to work as a slave. She was used as a trade to the Mohave Indians and was later adopted as one of their own. She was released
|
near the town itself in 1855 with her face tattooed in the fashion of the tribe.
We frequented Oatman often. It's still a very cherished place in my heart and I want to revisit it many more times. I never get tired of seeing the old buildings, the merchant shops with an assortment of goods, seeing all the burros enter and roam the town for the tourists to feed carrots to---but, I must warn you, please do not feed the baby burros.
