The most extraordinary thing happened to me when I spent the weekend at the P.T. Lodge. I was there visiting family living in Lakeside. My sister told me that this was the most inexpensive motel in the White Mountain area. It was just a little bit further up the mountain into the township of Pinetop
I arrived at that nice quaint little motel Friday evening at 7:00 pm and was greeted by a most friendly family who were caretakers of the lodge. The entire family worked hard together in order to make things nice for the weary traveler, make him feel right at home in the oldest, and friendliest motel in all of the White Mountain area of Arizona.

I retired early that night after watching a very funny re-run of the old TV show 'Married with Children. ' My dreams were nice and filled with children laughing and playing. Then the strangest thing that could ever happen happened! I became aware that the laughter of children was 'not' in a dream, but that I was actually wide awake and listening to children laughing right there in my motel room! I sat up and looked straight in front of me at the foot of my bed. I found that there were five little children standing there pointing at me and laughing at me.

''Where did you little children come from?'' I asked.
The tallest of the children who appeared to be a ten-year-old girl said
''We came from the hole that we dug in the wall. We came from the room that came from the rooms from the holes that we dug in the walls. ''
By this time I was beside myself. Knowing that I was having a conversation with a little ghost girl, I then 'bravely' asked the little ten-year-old ghost child.
