I grew up on S. Ethel Avenue. I remember many sightings in that home. The first and scariest happened when I was home alone. I swore I heard footsteps on the main level as I was cleaning in my basement bedroom. I went to my door to go investigate, and the doorknob would not turn. There was no lock. I waited a while, and when the footsteps went away I tried my door again, and it opened without a hitch. Scared, I checked all the basement then went up

the stairs. I checked the main floor one room at a time until I came to the front door and noticed that it was open, only the screen was closed. I remember
|
vividly closing the front door when my dad and brother left because I would be alone.
I also remember being sure our dog was inside with me. As I looked out the screen door, however, the dog was standing at the open front gate (also something that was closed. ) He was barking as if there were a stranger on the other side of the fence line. I looked and saw no one up or down the road, so I called the dog back inside with me. A neighbor called
