I have had more than one frightening experience in Palisade. But the three that will always stick out in my mind occurred at River Bend Park and the old high school. I will start with the park. I always had a bit of an odd feeling when I went to a little spot down there. That place is well hidden and a very good place to think. After a couple of weeks going down there I saw a pretty young girl in a tattered dress, very bloody and looking frightened.

Over time I saw her more and more but each time she appeared her dress was little neater. The cuts and blood seemed to disappear, and she got happier.

Eventually a friend of mine went down there late at night, and as we wandered by my little spot, I saw her clearer than I had ever seen her before. This time her dress was in horrible shape; she was cut, beaten, and bloody. When I approached her she screamed and pulled a knife from the folds of her dress, so we decided we needed to leave just in case. About a week later we went back down as odd as it may sound as the girl was dead because we were worried
