I used to live on the south side, and the things I saw at dark chilled me for the rest of my life. One night I was watching TV in my living room, and I heard this screech. It was ear piercing. I went outside and didn't see anything. I went back inside, and 3 minutes later the same screech came again. I went outside, and I saw this dog like figure. It stood on two legs screeched again, and it dissipated in thin air. I don't know if this was my imagination, but to me it was so real. I still get dreams to this day.

I grew up in a house on 11xx Carteret, and it is very haunted. I could tell you stories that would curl your toes. We saw everything from shadows to doppelgangers. A friend spent the night at my house once, and in the middle of the night she called her dad to come and pick her up. She was very shaken. Finally she told me that she had gone to use the bathroom, and she looked at herself in the mirror. As she did all she saw was the face of an old woman staring back at her. She was only around 13 years old, so it was obviously not her reflection.

There were apparitions of hands that appeared out of nowhere, including voices and whispers in the late night hours. I was often awakened by feeling someone grab my shoulder and shake me. There was never anyone there. That wasn't all that happened there. There seemed to be some sort of time warp where everyone would disappear in the night. This happened to me 3 times. I would wake up and feeling scared. I'd walk through the house and go into my older siblings' bedrooms only to find each room empty. I'd even climb up on the beds to see if anyone was there. They were completely missing.

The last time it happened my older sister and I had stayed up late watching a scary movie. We both fell asleep in the living room. I was on the sofa, and she was lying under near a front window where we had a swamp air conditioner. When I woke up I saw that she was gone. I even picked the blanket up that she had been covered in. She was not there. I went looking through the house for her, and she was nowhere, so I went to wake my mom up to tell her that my sister was missing. When my mom came out my sister was right there sleeping in the spot near the air conditioner.

The last time I was in Colorado I visited our old home. I drove up and just remembered different aspects of my childhood there. I didn't go into the house or anything as I didn't want to bother the current owners. I couldn't help but wonder if they were having the same kind of experiences that I grew up having in that scary old house.
