I live on South 2nd. The past few nights something has been coming from the field west of my house. I'm not the only one to have seen it. It's not a ghost. It's older, and it's not afraid.

My house on North 6th Street in Rocky Ford is haunted. When my wife and I first moved in and started doing renovations, like flooring and painting etc, things started to happen. One day my wife came home from the store, and we both saw a black shadow drop down to the floor and shoot across the dining room down the hallway into the bathroom. I thought I was seeing things. My pitt also saw it and chased it across the dining room into bathroom.

Another night I was lying in bed and woke up hearing something spraying my swiffer sweeper. The kind that has a button, takes batteries, and takes a refillable jug of cleaner and a swiffer pad. I stayed in bed listening to it spray, spray and spray. It would spray intermittently throughout the night and emptied the entire container of cleaner, as if something was playing with it. It has never done that before or again.

Also another night my wife was lying in bed, and her big metal water jug picked up and slammed down on the night stand right next to her. It was such a loud slam; she jumped out of bed and refused to stay in the room alone. Another evening my wife's sister came over to visit. They both had been smoking cigarettes on the front porch. When they came back inside and sat down on the couch, we had started to all kimda just talk and have a conversation. We heard someone say, ''Hello. '' It was in a woman's voice and was very loud. The voice seemed to come from all around us. I suppose it was a disembodied voice that sounded exited to greet someone. To this day her sister thinks I had some tape recorder playing a woman's voice setup to prank her. I have never heard that voice or anything like it before or after that.
One day sitting in the house alone, I heard what sounded like someone practicing a violin or stringed instrument. It sounded like someone was trying to hit the same note on a violin over and over and over. It seemed to be reverberating throughout my walls in my living room. It wasn't outside, and it wasn't a radio or television. I sat there listening to the noise for 20 minutes or so. It was very loud but also seemed to be coming through my walls and/or floor from the cellar. I have never heard this again. At the time this I had no neighbors on each side of me as the houses surrounding me had been vacant, so the house is very quiet usually.
Another night lying in bed, I heard something rustling around in my dining room quite loudly. I had two stacked cases of bottled water in my dining room. They had been moving and shuffling around like crazy for a small period of time throughout the night. I could hear them moving around, and they had been quite heavy. It was not an animal and wasn't anything I could perceive. I had no fans running or anything at all. The cases of bottled water are quite heavy.
