When walking through the old arboretum on campus in 2012 I felt an overwhelming feeling of sadness when descending toward the amphitheater close to the tennis courts. I was suddenly overcome with anxiety feeling as if I had failed every course for that semester, and it was hopeless to keep trying even though it was nearly midterms, and I had been doing fine in my classes.
When getting closer to the clearing I heard a loud thunk of a tree ahead then the sound of something swinging slowly. I immediately turned and walked (or almost ran... ) down the trail toward the administration building. After doing some brief research into the University I read that a student had hung themselves there in the 1940s, and UI had since removed the branch it occurred upon. I still sometimes hear a tight rope swinging from a distance when walking through the ARB but won't go near that area.

I lived in the College Apartments on Garfield Street right next to Rotary Park, and I still live in Moscow to this day. However, when I originally moved into the apartments on Garfield my paranormal encounters were too often. When me and the fam were moving in I felt someone standing right behind the front door while everyone else was outside. Since my hands were full as I was carrying my things I calmly asked if the presence by me could open the door. Like a very chill winter draft blew around my neck, the door opened without issue on its own. Granted this wouldn't be scary if it was winter, but it was a stagnant day in July with no wind at all.
In that same home I would wake up in the middle of the night to heavy breathing by my bed, and lights would turn on and off at whim. Additionally Rotary Park is definitely haunted. I would walk my dog around 3 to 4 times a day up to rotary then back to my house, and too many times to count I would hear whispers or see something in the corner of my eye. Not shadows for sure but full on apparitions. Moscow is a beautiful but creepy place.
