This took place about ten years when I was working in the gift shop at the hyatt regency lake tahoe (which, unfortunately has been torn down during the remodel some years ago). The first day of work my boss and co-manager sat in the office and casually cautioned me not to be startled by the store ghost! I thought they were just kidding - ribbing the new employee.
Pretty soon I found out they weren't kidding. During one of the afternoon shifts

when all was quiet I was sitting behind the counter flipping through a magazine when I heard footsteps clicking on the wood floor in front of the store.

jumped up to greet the customer - and no one was there. This turned out to be an almost daily occurrence and soon became routine and I became accustomed to hearing footsteps when nobody was there.
However, soon after that there was an afternoon in the summer when the store was super busy and I was ringing up customer after customer when out of the corner of my eye I saw a very tall man in a cowboy hat walk towards the back of the store (where there's
