We recently spent three nights at the Colorado Belle in room 50268 of the Orleans Tower. The first night my spouse and I gambled a bit then went out to dinner. Afterwards I went up to the room to go to bed, and my spouse stayed downstairs playing blackjack. Later that night my spouse knocked on the room door because she had forgotten her room key. When I answered she said come out in the hallway because it looked like someone's room was on fire.
Because I was in my pajamas I poked my head out and looked down the hall. There was white smoke about 15 to 20 feet away down the hallway. It was about 2 to 3 feet deep from the floor and slowly billowing towards us. I thought someone's room was actually on fire. She walked towards it and said she didn't think it was smoke because it smelled good.
As she turned and said this to me the ''smoke'' suddenly billowed backwards as if it was being vacuumed and disappeared. I was trying to process what I had just seen. My spouse had been drinking, but I had not. I thought maybe someone was vaping nearby, but no one was in the hallway. I also thought maybe there was a vent that caused it. I assumed there was something that could explain the weird smoke show in our hallway. She came back in the room, and we went to bed.
The next morning I was asking her about it, and she said it had smelled like lilacs or flowers. She also said before she came to our door to knock the smoke was above her head. When I saw it it was covering the width of the hallway and 2 to 3 feet deep. I checked the hallway that day, and there were neither vents nor other doors where the ''smoke'' could have come from or gone to. It bothered me the rest of our trip because I walked down that hall every time to our room and couldn't explain that smoke.
I finally asked a worker if they ever had guests mention ghosts or hauntings at the Belle. She quickly said ''yes, there is a lot of activity at the Colorado Belle. Especially in the hallways. She asked where we were staying and told us ''yes, there was activity in the Orleans Tower''.
