me how the night before went. They said the humming got louder and louder to where they had to leave the area because they were really scared. One of the ladies began humming the tune, and I immediately recognized it as the tune I had heard as well. It was crazy. Nothing happened after that that I was aware of, but I believe now that the lab is haunted. Submitted by Jo

There was a home here in Reno, Nevada that was split into two apartments, front and back. I lived in the front. I moved here a year before, and I never have been so terrified ever! I saw that it was old and that it had a strong past, but that it possessed the evil that it did. I moved in there alone, but was never alone. There were vegetables growing everywhere, and sugar pea vines that were amazing, years of perfection. I had about one good acre and a lot of old landscaping someone had planned a long time ago. These roots grew strong inside and out. The basement was full of antiques and junk form the early 1920s to the present. My friends and I had looked at the basement and gotten curious to see the other side of the home.

So of course we snooped and realized that the apartment was vacant. It had been for a while but there were always lights on, and all the doors were always locked. We had before checked all the screens and doors to see if we could get in. I knew the property managers. There was no sign of bums, nothing. I had a friend's child stay over one evening to babysit. We had these odd passage ways that would lead to nowhere as well as locks on closets and odd doors. He insisted we look at the basement. He wanted to see all these doors. He heard his mamma talking earlier about the house with me. I agreed to let him look, but had to put another light in the hallway (I changed that light more than 7 times in a year of living there). He proceeded to walk down the stairs to the basement, and I saw his shoulders thrust forward and he fell down the stairs. I was in shock and totally scared! I knew that I had to be strong and supportive. I ran down picking him up. I took him to the bathroom to take a good look at him. I asked him ''what hurts? Why are you crying?'' He mumbled ''I am not hurt! That old man pushed me down the stairs! '' OK, Time to play fake… No! I asked him what he looked like. He said he was in a police uniform but tan color. I had really bad dreams for a long time.
I smelt old spice and felt so icky. I began my nosey journey in the basement. I knew it was time to snoop. I found pictures of a man that was deceased. He was a police officer in California and had built the add-on. The home was constructed before the 1920s, and it only had been added until it was functional. I had looked at the blue prints and snooped in the family history books. This was really deep. I had dreams that I was a little boy in overalls. The overalls had old denim cloth, and I always was standing by a creek as a toddler picking and chewing on the buttons. I also had dreams of killing myself, but it was not me. I had a dream someone shot me, and I when I looked down I was black, and I am white.
I finally said I was done. I was cleaning out the garage. I was replacing a board on the wall when I pulled out this stiff smelly cloth out of the wall. It was the overalls that I dreamed of; the button on the right side was even worn, so I ran. I ran across the street to my neighbors (she was older than my mother) and asked '' please what can you tell me?'' It was like they had been used to people freaking out. My neighbor gave me a glass of wine and offered me some smoke but I declined. She explained to me what had happened in the past. In the 1960s the family moved in keeping to themselves and that the children were forbidden to waive at their neighbors. The neighbors had observed that only some of the children would go to school, and some would stay home. The youngest child was six and did play with the neighbors little girl. The little girl came home one evening and said that her friend was different. The social services and agencies were current at their home. The six-year-old child had become ill with damages to his brain. The old man had died in his reclining chair in the living room, but the little boy (his son) was alive.
