make me feel so sad for no other obvious reason.
There were a couple of other strange happenings that day: slamming doors when no wind was possible, and so on. I firmly believe that the spirit of that child haunts the house, and that is what made me feel so sad when I was there. I believe that is also why the previous occupants felt so sad and why the lady wanted to just leave town. I can't wait to go back and see my old friends, but not going into

The Mizpah hotel is most definitely haunted. It’s a gorgeous hotel with so much history. My husband and I stayed there on our way to Tahoe. After enjoying a drink and sharing stories with the bartender we went to our room on the second floor. We fell fast asleep in the comfy bed, but around 3:30 am I either was having a terrible nightmare, or a spirit was holding me down and applying pressure on my chest making it hard to breathe. Then this horrible face appeared above me. I started gasping and trying so hard to scream for my husband’s help.
Finally the words came out, and I was in a panic and very wide awake. It was such a vivid dream, and we lay their awake talking about it. Then we started to hear strange knocking noises and sounds like voices in the hall. My husband got up to check the hallway for maybe someone just getting to their room, but the hall was empty and silent. We continued to hear strange noises. He brushed it off to the fact it was an old hotel. Finally we fell back in a deep sleep and awoke fresh. We packed up, had a delightful breakfast in their downstairs dining room, and left for Tahoe. I may have had a nightmare, but the voices and noises were real! . Submitted by Meljrs
